We are immediately recruiting 2 experienced Process Development Engineers to join our busy Engineering team at our Wellingborough facility on a 6-month contract basis.

Autocraft Machining Solutions is part of the Autocraft Solutions Group. Our 7,000sqm facility in Wellingborough is home to the group’s medium to high volume machining capability. AMS specialises in cylinder head & block machining, bed plates, ladder frames, EV motor & transmission casings, and structural BIW components.

This contract role is to support the facility’s diversification into high performance engine assembly.

Able to hit the ground running, you’ll be working alongside a team of talented in-house and contract engineers to deliver an exciting new engine assembly production line for a major premium automotive OEM.

You’ll be providing engineering and technical support to the Senior Production Engineers, and liaising with the customers and our Operations Team at Autocraft Machining Solutions. You’ll be responsible for developing and optimising processes for sub-assembly and assembly of engine components.

With experience already in this field or in a very similar role, you’ll be responsible for the design and procurement of assembly fixtures and tooling. You’ll be managing external toolmakers and equipment providers, and training operatives in the processes you’ve developed, so excellent communication is essential. You’ll be developing process instructions in line with customer requirements and best industry practice gained from your extensive experience.

With a passion for continuous improvement, you’ll be constantly looking for ways to optimize our processes, and as a team-player you’ll assist in providing solutions to production issues in other areas, including supporting customer and quality meetings when required.

You’ll have extremely high health & safety standards, and will assist in producing risk assessments for the assembly processes you’ve helped to develop.
